Talking with a friend at an art opening about style, I stuck out my foot and said, “These are vintage men’s Gucci loafers. Got them on eBay.” Last week, I tried to save a search on eBay and a notification popped up: You’ve hit the maximum amount. And then a few days ago I opened a newsletter from Gohar World featuring vintage tableware, including a beautiful vegetable vase. I looked at the price ($346!) and thought, I can find this on eBay for under $100.

So the eBay gift guide was born and my friend Marlaina and I curated over one hundred links to affordable gifts — plus ten ridiculously expensive beautiful things just for window shopping. Unless you have a rich relative, and then by all means, please ask them for the Antique Mother of Pearl Inlaid Bridal Chest.
